Reminds me of the Opening line from an old game I love.
“Shakespeare once said ‘There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so’ “
Evil is in the eye of the beholder. One might see this page and call it an act of great evil, another might see it and say it is justified by nature and survival. If you perceive something one way it doesn’t mean those around you will perceive it the same way. This is something I stand by.
Eh, I’m pretty sure evil *does* exist. However, yeah – pretty sure eating to survive is not evil. Motives matter, Emmy – don’t forget that.
Evil is not a matter of action, it is a matter of intent. Killing is not evil. What is evil is the spite and hatred that drives people to kill.
I have a hard time calling anyone Evil its a strong word depending on ones word view imply’s many things. I like JJ’s quote “Evil is in the eye of the beholder.” it rings quite true. just look at everyone who believes something different
As for Zycant Motives Certainly matter but I don’t think a single “sane” human has that much thought out ill intent towards others.
And for the last part of Zophah’s comment that “What is evil is the spite and hatred that drives people to kill.” Those Feelings can be taken by anyone fighting anything. a person could hate repeat offenders of violent crimes and want to kill them so they never have an opportunity to do it again. would it be justified? Maybe to them.
But take note a not of a earlier part in the comic The fox who sold his soul (cant remember the name but you know who im talking about.) think of his motives. the humans have caused him so much grief and surly have done so to many others. Would he be justified for never wanting that to happen to others absolutely. would he be wrong yes very much.
And perhaps think about your own motives for what you do. The smallest things you do have a underlying motive, and even a good deed could be done for selfish reasons.
I enjoy these thoughts they make me think and look closer at myself and others. Keep up the good work Scott this is The Sentinel and ill be watching. (get it)
Well, there is….. but dumb foxes don’t get it.
